Caring for an individual that is in the early to late stages of Alzheimer's disease is a 24-hour a day commitment. Pine Rock Manor provides around the clock supervision utilizing licensed nurses, nursing assistants and trained caregivers. The nursing staff provides assistance with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming and eating. Our comprehensive activities program uses creative physical, spiritual, intellectual and sensory activities to foster continued independance in every day life as well as with-in the community.

Health Services
Residents that reside in a Fortis Healthcare Assisted Living Residence are provided with healthcare oversight, by a high quality nursing staff. Nursing staff includes Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Licensed Medication Nursing Assistants (LMNA), Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNA) and Resident Care Managers (RCM). All of these nursing disciplines work as a coordinated team to provide the highest quality of care and ensure that all their healthcare needs are met. Upon a resident's admission and on an ongoing basis, each resident is evaluated for their specific healthcare and personal care needs. Nursing staff assists residents with medication management, monitoring of chronic medical conditions and personal care at whatever level that is required for them.
Nursing staff is the keystone in the healthcare management of each resident. Nursing coordinates the appointments with licensed practitioners, medical specialists, as well as support services that come into the assisted living residence through third party resources. Support services routinely used include physical, occupational and speech therapies. Hospice, wound care, and respiratory therapy may be arranged to meet the needs of a resident to help them remain in the residence they now call their home.
Special care is provided for the healthcare needs of residents who suffer from Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Nursing staff use their assessment skills to monitor the needs of residents who cannot speak for themselves. When residents cannot express symptoms of pain or illness, that is when our nursing staff excels. Once the needs of the resident have been assessed, the nursing staff will then arrange the appropriate medical interventions and follow up care.

Loving Respite Care
Short-term stays are available at Pine Rock Manor. Regular respite visits can add to an individual's quality of life as they provide an opportunity for socialization and introduction of new activities into the individual's daily routine. Since caring for a resident with dementia is such a labor intensive and emotional commitment, a short scheduled stay may allow family members the time needed to rest and rejuvenate.
Emergency respite care can also be provided when a plan has been established in advance between Pine Rock Manor and the caregiver.
